Frequently asked

Do I need separate accounts for each role?
No. One account picks up whichever roles you need — the Member role at signup, Organizer after your first meetup, Company after saving a company profile, Vendor after completing the PayPal onboarding.
Is email verification really required?
Yes. You can register and browse, but the first log-in is gated until you click the verification link. This keeps the map free of bots.
Is there a fee just to buy a ticket?
No. Buying tickets is free from the platform's side — the only money that changes hands is the organizer's per-seat price, paid directly to them via PayPal.
How much does the platform take from a ticket sale?
A 5% commission per ticket sold — the organizer keeps the other 95%. There is no platform fee on free meetups.
How much does the platform take from a product sale?
Vendors pay a 10% commission per product sold through the storefront, on top of the annual $99 subscription. The vendor keeps the other 90%, paid out via PayPal.
Can I cancel the $99 vendor subscription?
Your store stays active for the 12 months you paid for. After that, the storefront goes into read-only mode until you run onboarding again.
What happens to my data if I change my mind?
Meetups, companies, and vendor listings all soft-delete. An admin can restore them if you ask within a reasonable window.
Do I need Zoom or another tool for online meetups?
No. Online meetups ship with a built-in LiveKit classroom at /meetups/{slug}/room — speaker-spotlight video, chat, and file uploads (up to 10 MB) all in one place. The room opens 15 min before start and closes 30 min after the end time.
As an attendee, how do I join an online meetup?
Register for the meetup, then open its page when the room unlocks (15 min before start). You land in a waiting room until the host admits you — or they can flip the "Allow everyone" toggle and you walk straight in.
